I did confirm w her public defender Joe Hurley鈥檚 assistant & court clerks that they received her referral & let them know that Caitlyn at Moonlight Mtn Recovery had submitted an application for Jamie & would email an approval letter to assistant public defender. She will get out
US js criminalizing poverty, & Im guilty af. 1 health prob & I got evicted every time. I don鈥檛 take help for granted & all ppl deserve it. Jamie is one who deserves a lot better & I considered spending my 8k rent on her bail, tho she鈥檇 never ask. My health is bad enuf I didn鈥檛.
She also had jobs dancing, at the restaurant wingers & cleaning w lots of friends. We had plans to go camping & toast marshmallows & lay in the sun by the river & instead she鈥檚 taken to jail & I nearly got evicted smh the war on women irl. Prayers to her & Luxie all ways
Probation is expensive & it鈥檚 hard to pay your bills in a small town without transportation. She was doing great & has a solid circle of people, her ex who tattooed me runs a youth project for sober kids using outdoor & art therapy which is amazing. She had a church &a fianc茅 now
She was making great money & looking to adopt & due to detox + driving/missing aptmt she had to have someone put her stuff in storage & move her apartment. The recovery is in a dif town. I don鈥檛 understand why they waste cost of jail for taxpayers on this type of shit whatsoever
Jamie does not have the chip on her shoulder for authority & ppl who hurt her that I do btw, she loves her mom dearly & felt bad for the cop who hurt his wife & committed suicide after watching her daughter Luxie after Jamjeblost custody, just the sweet resilient spirit so.
To expect ppl w significant addiction history to recover w/out a relapse is unrealistic & more detrimental to their mindset in my experience, by weight of all or nothing expectations. Create enviro & relationships that make sobriety easier & remove stress such as $/probation >
