Itagaki said that DOA wasn't just a fighting game, it was entertainment. This is an example of it, the stage transitions were epic. DOA had believed this was the direction 3D Fighters were headed, intractable 3D Environments.
Which is why Tekken 4 was one of my Favorite Tekken's, it tried to head in this direction, and then they backed out because the community didn't like how busted it was. They should have stuck with it and improved on it, and who knows what Tekken would have become today in terms of its level designs. Don't give me those lame Tekken 8 transitions.
