This is patronizing his constituents. If the US wanted him eliminated for any reason, they could do it from 30,000 feet, and there is nothing his military could do to stop it. If the US wanted to, it could conquer the nation and call it a training exercise. I say that not as a threat, but as a statement of fact. Will the US conquer Columbia? No, it won’t. Will the US end Columbia to hit the cartels where they live? Absolutely. Could the Colombian military stop the US military from attacking the cartels? No. Petro knows this, which is why his statements are obviously directed at his own people.
