Try 229 years, Dear "I can use Google" man. Detroit was under French and British rule until 1796, but Detroit didn't officially incorporate as a city until 1815. Context, dude. Context changes the narrative every...single...time... But good for her. Now maybe she'll clean up the city. ha ha ha ha!
