Absolutely fascinating. Poll in his post (closed), but should be done again. A lot of immediate theories instantly pop out. @BrianRoemmele @MCCCANM @realpeteyb123 @Empty_America
So here’s the inspiration for this poll On a flight from MSP-CYYC over the weekend, almost every first/comfort shade was open in cruise but every econ shade was closed. Not sure if there’s a lesson in there or not. Pic is from back of plane (A320) looking forward.

Your kids can use technology to make them dumber (the default) Or they can use technology to help them memorize things worth memorizing. Give them the gift of great poems and speeches that they'll carry with them forever. incordium.com/

Breaking! FAA stops Private Jets at these airports starting midnight tonight: Chicago O’Hare (ORD) Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Denver (DEN) Logan International (BOS) George Bush (IAH) Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (ATL) John F. Kennedy (JFK) Los Angeles (LAX) Newark Liberty (EWR) Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) Ronald Reagan (DCA) Seattle-Tacoma (SEA)
I've thought about this a lot through the years. What we provide is in-person, real-world meetings, connections, living. That's a big deal.
I often ask myself what makes aviation so special. Is it the miracle of flight? Absolutely. But I also like to think about what we are doing: connecting people from all walks of life. To most, these trips are significant life events. To us, they’re just another day in the life.

Starting tonight at 1 AM, we’ll be sharing the real radio transmissions from the night the SS Edmund Fitzgerald was lost on Lake Superior, 50 years ago. These posts will follow the timeline as it happened, from the first reports of rough seas to the ship’s final transmission. We share them in remembrance of the 29 men who were lost, and in respect for all who work the Great Lakes. Transmissions from: ssedmundfitzgerald.org/fitz-…

Anyone know how to see this without being required to pay for a sub? Seems odd to make citizens pay to watch this.
Tune in to Fox Nation for a once-in-a-generation look inside America’s preeminent maritime force, “Above, Below, and Beyond.” Never-before-seen footage. Rare access. The stories of our Sailors, Marines, families, who keep the Fleet at sea. For 250 years, we’ve shown the world what seapower means.

Many private jet flights will almost always gladly oblige. They want to avoid heavy traffic areas, avoid delays, incur extra delay costs, can and do quite easily divert to any numbrer of local, nearby general/business aviation airports. Was working with one just this morning.
Hopefully Katie doesn’t pour hot mashed potatoes on me for correcting her but… restrictions for private jets are already in place!

I don't understand why every year we continue to cheapen Thanksgiving more and more by sharing it with Christmas. Christmas has the entire month of December to itself, can't we let Thanksgiving have one week in November?

Airport gridlock, visualized.
When you fly a lot you don’t get worked up about stuff. We are 27th in line to take off (actual number) but I’m just glad we are taking off.

It’s shaping up to be yet another rough day for travelers. ORD and EWR are already under delay programs! Low vis + thunderstorms + staffing triggers are expected across the East Coast. Ground stops are already predicted for 8 airports: CLT, ORD, LAX, SAN, BOS, MCO, EWR, DCA.
Monitoring @flightaware this morning. GM.

One of the most minor things you can do to preserve your own sanity is to eat dinner with intention. This is especially true for anyone with a young family, but even if you're single or live alone, it's still important. Consider your day broken into small rituals, each serving a purpose. You chew every bite. You light a candle and set the table. You reflect on the day and think about tomorrow. You have a conversation. It's shocking how many Fathers get home from work, turn on the TV, eat some goyslop from the microwave, and scroll on their phone while their kids jump around and beg for attention. Even the smallest acts are a form of rebellion against normalized dysfunction.
