YouTube seems to have auto-enabled AI dubbing on my channel, which means I now have to manually remove 20+ language dubs from every single video of mine... Sorry to those of you who clicked on my videos and just heard an awful AI voice speak. I don't understand why YouTube automatically pushes features like this. I'm currently fixing it, but it'll take a while.

just so you know merry, youtube have pushed AI video enhancements as well but told nobody, no opt in, except one insider video, for enabling or disabling it, you should go into: channel setting -> channel -> Advanced Settings -> video quality enhancements

Yes, they did, they event sent a mail to tell us how proud they are to activate this without any form of consent from the creators this will affect I took this screenshot around early september, you should have a similar one around the same time

I understand the "is annoying to have it auto enabled and the viewer has to change it manually", but I don't see why you have to personally remove them all and waste time. When I open a video and hear it, I simply deactivate the option, I don't blame the content creator for it.

there is a option in the studio to disable that

The worst part is that Revanced CANNOT disable this on the user's end

Because for them, pushing the feature is just few lines of code, but for CC is hours or work. At some point, CC will not deactivate the feature, and this will become more and more predominant, and people will get more used to IA, so when people lose their work to IA it will just>

I love that the last part shortens to “I don’t understand why YouTube” before you click Show More. And honestly it’s the realest vibe right now.

What I fail to understand is why they’re forcing it as automatically enabled. Like just do a little pop-up to indicate that I can use it if I WANT TO.

Good luck! I don’t know if the advanced option in settings for uploads only does new content or applies to old ones too, hopefully there’s a way to not do it manually for past videos…

I don't see why there's so much push back against it. If someone wants to listen to it, let them. It can only benefit your channel.

Go into youtube studio in desktop mode. Settings-upload defaults-scroll down to AI dubbing-uncheck and hit save. Don't know how much it'll fix, but it's at least turning something off that was enabled without users' knowledge.

Take the time you need. Do not stress about how long. I hate the direction online is going. Auto-enabling something is something that discord, Microsoft edge, google, Firefox so many big important online stuff is going for doing things without people controlling what is happening
Replying to @Merrydawg
It would be better if the viewer had the choice. For example: The video starts in the original English but a pop-up on screen tells you about the option to ''dub'' it.

Dude I was trying to watch someone’s video who spoke Spanish natively and the AI voice just was screwing with me and I couldn’t watch the video. It also was a pain to figure out how to turn it off on my phone, I had to get on my PC to watch it.

omg its the worst thing ytb has done recently cause even the cover songs i play in youtube MUSIC has autodubbing 😭 and i have to turn it off on the ytb app and not the ytb music app its so annoying

As much as it sucks, there's no way in hell i'm going through every single vid to turn it off one by one when there's over 4 digits of vids... youtube needs to have a feature to make ALL of it turn off at once
Replying to @Merrydawg
You aren’t the only one I’ve seen this happen too. Don’t stress too much.
Replying to @Merrydawg
apreciate you for going through the struggle. I have yet to meet someone who likes to watch videos with AI dubs instead of the original with subtitles.

Thank you for doing that. Most youtubers didn't even bother

Companies are forcing Ai on us because their near trillion dollar investment into it has to show results and "see see!? Everyone loves AI!"
Replying to @Merrydawg
The worsr part is we cant even opt OUT from listener side.
Replying to @Merrydawg
They push this stuff and auto opt-in instead of opt-out, and then will have the balls to charge for it when people don't opt-out.

I wouldn't have ANY issue with this feature if it was an OPTION the user could turn on. Videos should ALWAYS play in the language they were uploaded in. It's so bad with Shorts because I can't seem to find a way to swap languages in a Short...
Replying to @Merrydawg
Why auto a simple would you like to enable it would suffice
Replying to @Merrydawg
It’s honestly so cursed how all these new “features” are out enabled. Imagine the carple tunnel from editing hundreds of videos.
Replying to @Merrydawg
Oh yes that happened to me too. I had to manually change it to it´s original language to hear your voice <3 It´s an awful new feature and they should ask the user before they add it automatically. I don´t want to hear these terrible AI Voices.

I hate how corpos are trying to push ai on everyone or even try to sneak it into things. It's going to be a LONG next couple of years...
