He really did mean well during that whole thing, even if pressing just abit too much. With the heights of how things were and especially how Ignis ended up, its no wonder he was more riled up at this point. He’s meant to be a shield, but even then he still can’t protect.
Even after succeeding in his trials in his episode, even after getting stronger….what’s expected of his duty is faltering and he’s trying to set things back on course as best as he can because that’s the best of what he can do for everyone in that moment.
