Our government over the past several decades have been doing everything in their power to change the wording used for our Constitution. They have worked hard to replace the word Republic with Democracy, but we are a Constitutional Republic!
Here is a very simple explanation of the difference between the two and why our founding fathers chose their words carefully writing the Constitution.
