🇮🇪 Go raibh maith agat, a Uachtaráin Great to meet Micheal D Higgins in St Patrick’s Cathedral today during his final engagement as President of Ireland. For fourteen years, he represented Ireland with integrity, principle, wisdom and compassion. He spoke up for justice, equality, for a fair society and a better world. We salute his outstanding service, his courage, his inspiring devotion to the Irish nation. We were lucky to have Michael D Higgins as Uachtarán na hÉireann. I wish President Higgins, his wife Sabina and all the family the very best for the future.

I'm going to show folks. 2 weeks ago today, I was in ICU with a collapsed lung and multi-organ failure. Life-saving expertise, care and support from so many talented people means that today, I'm walking around my local ponds with a chest drain and feeding tube - managed to do 2.5 miles so I'm happy with that. Yes, there are plenty of challenges ahead, loads, in fact, but I owe it to my lifesavers to get back on my feet. My family need me and I need them.

The excitement over the reopening of the Library Bar, The Globe and Rí-Rá is a further sign that old stuff is the best stuff, and it shouldn't have to go away to come back again. We're in a cultural decline, which has caused a raging ache for nostalgia, and unless good things are created and established in the coming years, this is how it will be. The latter two places were massive when I was in my teens and twenties. In fact, Rí-Rá was the first nightclub I was ever in.
