Nick is one of the most brilliant filmmakers we have around. You might know him as one of the four who were arrested in suspicion of being connected with the BBC documentary. Or more fittingly, for his film "The People Shall!" which recently premiered at @NBOFilmFest. Tokea. 🙏🏿
URGENT APPEAL: Our friend and comrade @nickwambugu needs BLOOD and PLATELETS. ANY BLOOD GROUP ACCEPTED MP Shah Hospital's Blood Bank. Please get there ASAP if you can. At the reception, tell them the patient's name is Nick Wambugu. Share widely. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 @wehaveblood

This analogy is incomplete. It's focused so much on the donkeys that it leaves out the fact that the lions stopped hunting because the donkeys were feeding them. What is a lion if it's not hunting? It's not a lion any more. It's an abomination called a lion. It is a monster. I bet the former lions became obese and toxic. They became ignorant about the Savannah since they no longer did the work of looking for their own food. And that's the part that Africans don't see. We don't see what Aime Cesaire said, which is that Euro-America is sick and unforgivable. It has become a monstrosity after divorcing itself from humanity. We Africans keep treating Euro-America like it is sane and civilized. Just like the donkeys keep treating the monsters like lions. They can't see that the monsters they serve stopped being lions a long time ago.

.@m_ogada has often said that Africans are often attacked for having opinions of their own. So when we voice what we think, we are asked for citations, which usually means from the west. When we talk of work and exploitation, we're called communists. When we talk about religion, we're called evangelicals. When we say Africans need a political imagination, we're asked for whether that imagination has worked in other countries. Africans should not accept to play second fiddle in the realm of ideas, or seek for permission from others to think. We must not accept that our thinking is only validated when it is classified according to what Euro-America approves or doesn't approve. And also, it is very telling when what we say is not disputed, instead we are attacked as persons. That is very cowardly, but it is also about reinforcing the idea that Africans can't think and shouldn't be thinking. The only thing that we are is our identity. At #MaishaKazini, we believe that thinking is work, and thinking is work we engage in as Africans. I invite those who consider this important, and many don't, to visit my channel and listen to what we have to talk about. The reason I started the channel was to have a space for the discussions I craved for and couldn't find anywhere else. If you don't like the content, there are many other discussion channels done by Kenyans that may suit your taste. Thank God. I will not defend myself against insults meant to stigmatize me, neither will I apologize for having a mind of my own. Watch my channel and make up your own mind, rather than be swayed by labels meant to delegitimize our thinking. piped.video/@MaishaKazini

My people, This is one of the cooking oil samples we submitted to the labs for testing, checking for arsenic, PAHs, and other dangerous cancer-causing chemicals. My people, where we have reached as a nation, we must take matters into our own hands. In a country where corruption stretches from the police to the executive, it only takes a small bribe for toxic and substandard food to flood our markets and end up on our tables. That’s why we’re doing this ourselves. These tests aren’t cheap, but they are necessary. Because every Kenyan deserves to know what’s safe and what’s not. We already have alarming results from the previous round of tests we did last month and God willing, by Sunday we’ll have the final lab reports for these new samples. We’ll share them with you openly and transparently, just as we’ve done before. My people, we’re doing this for you, your children, and every Kenyan family that deserves safe food.
