Joe Rogan on Trump's immigration crackdown: When you're arresting people in front of their kids... people that have been here for 20 years. Everybody who has a heart can't get along with that... no criminal record, they worked the entire time, they paid taxes. Find them a pathway to citizenship.

So basically, they’re maliciously changing the practices of prosecutorial discretion overnight in order to levy the maximum possible punishment against an allied investor building a domestic factory in a key national security industry. Everyone loses.

B-1 visa doesn’t allow work but that’s the old loophole that has been used/abused for short-term projects like this where an L-1 is too cumbersome/slow. I think that’s what happened here.
Reasonable people will not risk capital to gamble on manufacturing in an economic gravity well with frequent supply chain disruptions. Better to build abroad and let US customers pay tariffs instead of fronting tariffs on 100% of your production
The US continues to lose manufacturing jobs—payrolls are down nearly 100k over the last year, & another 12k jobs were lost in August. Transportation (especially auto manufacturing) and electronics/electrical manufacturing are the biggest losers, but few subsectors are doing well
