Claude Rains has become one of my favorite actors. The Invisible Man, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Casablanca, Notorious. All fantastic roles anyone would kill for. He truly was a bridge between American and British cinema. Always classy and entertaining. An actor’s actor.

People don’t give the Invisible Man enough credit for inventing a villain archetype that’s still popular today.

I just saw it for the first time yesterday and it’s easily my favorite horror film of that era. It still holds up beautifully today because of his performance.

I love him in everything I’ve seen him in. Which at this point is a lot!
