I get why people might believe this, but it is wrong. The hipster always had an air of the Problematic Dandy about him. Early wokes I knew were melting down about for example Vice Magazine, which was started by Gavin McGinnis, who coined the term hipster

The Hipster Era is more accurately described as The Early Woke Era. It was over-socialization that caused all these problems. Caring too much what the in-group thinks.

Hipsterdom was to a degree coopted by woke but it mostly was replaced. Poptimism, safety, inclusion and positivity became the inperative
