So this is where the CR stands right now. 1 vote outstanding and it is a Republican so the motion to invoke cloture will pass.
For those that don't understand the full process, this is where we are and what happens from here:
"Cloture" means they essentially override the Democrats filibuster so passage of the CR will go back to a simple majority vote and not need 60 votes, essentially ensuring passage.
Once cloture is invoked, there will be debate and voting on some amendments (3 full-year bills + longer CR extension) which only need a simple majority.
Following the debate and vote on amendments, there will be a final vote on the amended CR which will pass with a simple majority vote.
It has been stalled at 59 votes for quite some time now. That may be an intentional stalling tactic so that debate and the rest of the process doesn't continue tonight and everyone can get some sleep before getting back to it tomorrow.
As it has been amended, once CR passes the Senate it will have to go back to the House but should pass rather quickly. Most likely it will complete all steps and end the Government shutdown on Monday, Tuesday at the latest.
