During shutdowns, federal workers are told to “do more with less.” Meanwhile, Congress still cashes paychecks. That’s wrong. I’ve reintroduced an Amendment to end Member pay during shutdowns. Zero. No back pay either!!
.@SenTimKaine’s focused on elections while Americans are focused on paying bills. That's not leadership, it's neglect.
REPORTER: "Do you wish that you would have started looking for this off-ramp sooner?" SENATOR KAINE: "I was so focused on the Virginia elections I wasn't in this discussion on the healthcare to see how dug in they were."

An incredible moment last night!! @SecWar honoring Major James Capers Jr., a true American hero and son of South Carolina. Few embody courage and sacrifice like Major Capers, and it was powerful to see his service recognized on this national stage. 🇺🇸

It’s been one year since the greatest comeback in American political history. PROMISE MADE: “We will close the border. We will stop the invasion of illegals.” PROMISE KEPT: Under President Trump, the invasion of illegal aliens has ended.
It’s unconscionable for politicians to get backpay during a shutdown when hundreds of families aren’t getting paid. While hardworking Americans are tightening their belts, Congress shouldn’t be insulated from the very consequences it created. scdailygazette.com/2025/11/0…
Just 10 months in and SC families keep more of what they earn. No tax on tips and real middle-class relief. More money at the kitchen table. Thank you @POTUS!!

The radical left is choosing to vote against funding 42 million SNAP recipients and our military who put their lives on the line every day. Only Washington Democrats would call that strategy.

🚨It’s Day 35 of the Democrat Shutdown. Flights are delayed, families are struggling, and American workers aren’t getting paid. And yet Chuck Schumer is still holding out for handouts to illegal aliens, increased spending, and COVID-era giveaways to insurance companies.
Even during a government shutdown, business and innovation keep moving. I toured MacLean Power Systems in York, one of three South Carolina sites leading the way in utility infrastructure. From insulators to cross arms, everything on a utility pole is made here, all with zero waste.

Enjoyed speaking with 8th graders at Dutchman Creek Middle in Rock Hill! We talked about the Constitution and how my work in Congress centers on protecting it. Great questions from some sharp young minds!!
On our telephone townhall Monday, 90% said they support reopening the government with a CLEAN funding extension — without funding for illegal immigrants.
Our telephone townhall poll showed 83% know exactly who’s to blame for this shutdown — Democrats. House Republicans passed a clean bill to keep the government open. Democrats chose politics over hard-working Americans.

🚨 It’s Day 29 of the Democrat Shutdown. House Republicans passed a clean bill to keep the government open. Democrats are holding the government hostage demanding $1.5 trillion in new spending as the price to reopen it.

🚨 BREAKING: The government remains closed after Senate Democrats block a clean GOP bill to fund operations for the 13th time. Congress’ gridlock comes as several critical deadlines approach: • Tuesday: Air traffic controllers miss their first payday. • Friday: The military is set to miss its first full payday. • Saturday: A looming cliff for federal nutrition benefits.
Because Democrats refuse to pass a clean bill to fund the government, 42 MILLION Americans won’t get their SNAP benefits on Nov 1. Families shouldn’t have to suffer because Democrats want to protect $1.5 trillion in reckless spending.
I voted to keep the government open and SNAP running for millions of Americans. Democrats voted to shut it down. The Clean CR keeps things running while we negotiate. If they’re serious about governing, they’ll pass it. Anything else is spin. foxnews.com/politics/trump-a…
