Theres a growing homelessness crisis in Ajax and in communities across Ontario. Encampments are becoming the norm. Municipalities have limited resources funded by property taxes and they cannot do it alone. The province must step up and provide municipalities with the tools and funding they need instead of expecting them to do more with less. Supportive housing with addictions, mental health, and wraparound social services works. It is time to invest in solutions that get people out of shelters, off the streets and into homes. I urged the Premier and his government to do more during Question Period yesterday.
