Yet another example, and there are many, of so-called ‘historians’ doctoring Gareth Jones’s pan-Soviet famine testimony to make it look as if he was just reporting on famine in Soviet Ukraine. He wasn’t. On p.200 of ‘Red Famine’ NATO foot-soldier Anne Applebaum presents quotes from people supposedly complaining to my great uncle about “political oppression and mass arrests” in Kharkov, claiming they were given to him by Ukrainians on March 15th 1933. It’s just lies, lies and nonsense. In fact, all the quotes (above) that she puts in the mouths of Ukrainians were actually taken from Russians complaining about the situation in Moscow, where Gareth interviewed them on the 19th March 1933, days after he returned from the South. Russians were victims of the Bolsheviks too, just like Ukrainians and many other nationalities. If you look at Gareth’s diaries it is inconceivable that the author wouldn’t have known this but, hey, why let the truth get in the way of a good Banderite story? Clearly in this post-truth Western world anything goes, as long as it serves the purpose of unjustly demonizing Russia. The Great Soviet Famine was a tragedy for all those Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Russians and others who were its victims and for whom all my great uncle was a rare voice. Shame on those who are today weaponizing their deaths, and his testimony, for their own political, war-mongering ends. #holodomor

At the time of writing her book, as my family well knows, she was in close contact with that notorious whitewasher of Ukrainian Nazi collaborationist crimes Volodomyr Viatrovych. She is not a trustworthy historian by any stretch of the word. She is a propagandist for NATO.

The main narrative is, Russia executed everyone, all civilians, and threw them into mass graves. Then Ukraine discovered the grave. This is BS. Due to the war, it was dug by Ukrainians and they threw in everyone in there due to overflowing morgues themselves, including Russian and Ukrainian soldiers. Hence that’s why they don’t give out the names of the victims found, cause there are Russian and Ukranian soldiers too, that died due to the battles. As far as I remember, Russia didn’t control that part of Bucha as it was dug. Hence you don’t see Russians soldiers on site. Else there would be. This destroys the whole Bucha narrative, that’s why they can’t admit to it publicly.

People simply do not understand how the "reparations loan" proposal actually works. It's not stealing the frozen assets and giving them to Ukraine, instead it's a convoluted scheme which will potentially expose multiple EU countries to enormous financial liabilities. Here's the plan: 1. Euroclear will transfer roughly €175 billion to the European commission 2. €45 billion will be used to cover already outstanding loans the Ukrainians owe to the G7 3. The remaining €140 billion will sit in an EU account 4. The EU will issue a €140 billion loan to Ukraine that'll be disbursed in tranches over an unspecified period of time. If Merz has his way, all of this money will be spent on weapons from the EU. 5. The Ukrainians will only be required to pay back this loan if the war ends and the Russians agree to pay them reparations 6. The Ukrainians would then take this reparation money and use it to pay the EU. The EU would repay Euroclear, and Euroclear would repay the Russians The Belgians (who run Euroclear) have so far refused to participate in this scheme, because they have an investment treaty with the Russians, and there's no legal basis for them to send Russian money to the EU. Under the terms of the treaty, the Russians will be within their rights to litigate and the Belgians will be on the hook for the entire sum. This plan is almost certainly illegal unless the Russians have recourse to recover the assets, which defeats the entire point. Their solution to this problem is to mitigate their own risk by demanding the rest of the EU agree to helping them repay the Russians in the event all of this goes south. But no one seems interested in this idea. Equally worrying is the prospect of the EU sanctions scheme on Russia collapsing because of dissent from a minority of EU states. There's a reason they've been talking about this plan for years without having any concrete results to show for it. In the worst case scenario it's just a roundabout way for the EU to blow €175 billion of its own money while simultaneously breaking international law and risking massive capital flight from European banks.
