The funniest part is how socialists pretend they’re “anti-billionaire,” but the only billionaires they hate are the ones who earned it through voluntary trade. If you create value that millions choose to pay for, you’re the devil. But if you become a billionaire through political favor, violence, corruption or dictatorship, suddenly nobody has anything to say. You’ll hear endless rage about American entrepreneurs. But not a word about: • Hamas billionaires living in luxury while their people starve • Chinese party-approved billionaires handpicked by the state • Politician billionaires who get rich off force, not value Because the issue was never wealth. The issue is independence. They don’t hate rich people. They hate people who don’t owe them anything. Which is why they worship China. Not because socialism worked there, but because China replaced markets with political obedience. An economy run by permission slips. A billionaire class created by the state, controlled by the state and disposable at the state's command. That’s the world socialists want: Not equality. Not fairness. Just a ruling class they imagine will include them. They don’t want to abolish oligarchs. They want to be the oligarchs.
This is China.🇨🇳 China is proof that socialism works. As for Cuba, Venezuala and other examples, they may have worked if the US government hadn't spent TRILLIONS of dollars to prevent their success. 👇

In the Soviet Union, under communism, they were called the nomenklatura.

You're correct. Marxism isn't about "hating billionaires" or moralism. We want the working class to be the sovereigns over their economy and their country. China is an independent country precisely because the billionaires are subservient to the Communist Party.

So you think the billionaires are subservient but no one else is?

We aren’t anti-billionaire but anti Robber Baron. Were it reasonably possible for everyone to achieve such riches, we would have no objection. But only Robber Barons achieve such status, and reduce everyone else to rags, hence our deserved resentment!
Your ideology makes robber barons unavoidable

Socialism is slavery paraphrasing George Fitzhugh, 1857, who was in FAVOR of slavery, where a few rule the rest

They hate people who show ambition, talent, and/or agency, because they only thing they feel they can compete on is obedience. We need our education system and culture to show *everyone* that they can find more creative power and independence in themselves than they realize.

China is socialism mixed with a monopoly/monopsony economic stucture, where the government acts as the sole buyer domestically (meaning they own all of the goods and services in the country, and can set their own wages/prices), but acts as a sole seller/distributer internationally (it's why everything is "made in China") This allows them the growth they need to compete on the world stage, as well as the control they desire to run things. People need to learn more about the flipside of monopoly; monopsony.

It's a fascinating observation. I think they see the political billionaires as more similar to themselves, and they can imagine or fantasize about achieving that. Other billionaires are not role models to them.

"a ruling class they imagine will include *them*." That's exactly it. Nailed the core of the whole thing, well put.

🎯 Described it best. It's all about control.

You need a better definition of "works"...China is a dictatorship with limited freedoms. MILLIONS were murdered in the course of the government having the last word in everything.

The socialist love Pelosi. It's one of the more glaring examples of cognitive dissonance.

They just want to seize means and production. They will never let go of either freely. You have to take it back.

What was magical and very different about America at its founding was liberty, as expressed by our founders in the Declaration of Independence, the bill of rights and the Constitution. The Chinese have no liberty.

If you think the billionaires in the US became billionaires not from political favor, then you are an idiot. Sam Altman is literally begging the government for a backstop for his AI company as we speak because he knows the artificially inflated the value of the company, and the bubble is about to burst and he wants to socialize the losses
