Why is “Keep right except to pass” such a foreign concept to those who drive on Hwy 401?? It’s maddening!!

More hits by the @BlueJays in that single inning than the Brewers got in four games!! Go Jays!!

Finished this one over the weekend. This cask strength Caol Ila was bloody fantastic, and I wish I could replace this bottle.
It’s been awesome following my daughter’s progress through her geology undergraduate program. She just wrapped up her last field school in Quebec, and this Dad is beaming with pride!
Checked off a huge bucket list item tonight. Seeing The Pogues in a small venue in Montreal tonight was bloody incredible!

New paper was published while I was in the field, on mapping glacial erratic boulders at surface using LiDAR, even in heavily forested areas. A collaboration between the GSC, U of T, NSDNR, and GTK (Finland). Paper is Open Access, and available here: doi.org/10.1016/j.geomorph.2…

A new paper came out while I was in the field. John Menzies and I worked on this model for two years. It is Open Access and available here: doi.org/10.2110/jsr.2025.008

This @shelterpoint bottling was awesome. Their single malt pairs well with the rum cask finish. I’ll eagerly await the next one!

This was a gift from a colleague and friend, who vacationed in Tasmania last year, and brought it back to Canada. Both sherry and port finished, it was a fantastic single malt from @LarkDistillery. Highly recommended, if you can get your hands on it.

Spring has officially sprung!! Back out on two wheels!!

Bought this one 4 years ago, and every drop of it was delicious. Distiller’s Edition Talisker. If I could replace it, I would.

Finished this 12Yr @WhistlePigRye while battling over the cribbage board. American ryes are certainly not anything like great Canadian ryes, but the three finishing barrels do make this one delicious!

End to a successful short course with both classroom presentations and hands-on field stops at #KEG2025. I want to thank @KamloopsExplora for their hard work and support to ensure a successful and smoothly run short course.
Some of our Nova Scotia research has just been published on the glacial dispersal from lithium pegmatites. It is Open Access, and available here: doi.org/10.1144/geochem2024-…

A week ago, it was pretty cool meeting and talking to @tomgreenlive and @daytimemayor while out skating on the canal - but imagine this morning when I saw my face in his new video!! Great song, and thanks Tom, for including this ordinary Canadian!! 🇨🇦 piped.video/watch?v=j3tepf…

Happy Hockey Day in Canada! I was out on the canal in Ottawa today with my family, doing typical Canadian stuff, and was absolutely thrilled to do a sing along with this stellar Canadian, @tomgreenlive 🇨🇦
