The AI alignment problem is the human alignment problem.

AI alignment may help human alignment. Maybe we need AI to save us from ourselves. I mean Real AI not GenAI/ LLMs.

Wat. Humans are not vastly more capable than other humans. They can somehow gather a lot of power but even then will need constant cooperation from other humans. Also, even the most warped visions of dictators involve the continued existence of humanity. Meanwhile, ASI can be potentially more powerful than humans and can have a vision completely lacking humans.

I totally agree with this and with our current technology level, a major failure of our human overlords could wipe out civilization, and along with it most of us - permanently. Used to be that if one civilization somewhere failed, others took over but we only really have one now.
