On this Remembrance Sunday our politicians will be putting on a show of mourning the war dead. Having spent two years supporting a genocide in Gaza and arming the Israeli state their hypocrisy could hardly be greater As @FranHeathcote @pcs_union says, whenever war is waged, working people pay the price. Please help us to continue our anti-war campaigning by donating today to our winter appeal via our website

In other words, hostages.
"We condemn Kier Starmer's stance of defending or shielding racist, violent Israeli football fans, putting them above the safety of Birmingham citizens!" Our patron @SalmaYaqoob at Thursday's rally outside the Aston Villa stadium
While we are asked to remember those fallen in war this Remembrance weekend, let us do just that and think of the millions killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Ukraine – and let us not forget who was responsible for this slaughter
Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are notorious for causing violent disturbances all over Europe, yet the UK govt attacked the West Mids police for banning them! If you don't yet get the point of why we rallied outside Villa Park this week, watch this 🔽
Britain is preparing for war and our social priorities are being reordered. We have a genocide supporting government who is attacking anti-war activists at each and every opportunity. We can't do our work without you. Please donate to our appeal url.com/2vy7wnjd

Proud of the lively but peaceful protest in Birmingham. @WMPolice confirmed it was Maccabi fans - not locals - who were the primary safety risk, despite smears from Starmer and the media. Apologies are due to Birmingham’s communities and the Independent Alliance MPs who were maligned. All are welcome in Birmingham. And our community spirit is as warm as the tea and samosas that were freely shared last night. But we won’t let our city whitewash Israel’s war crimes. #Birmingham #Gaza #BoycottIsrael @AyoubKhanMP @jeremycorbyn @zarahsultana @iqbalmohamedMP @AdnanHussainMP @ShockatAdam @STWuk @PSCupdates @AaronBastani
Yesterday we came out in our thousands in Birmingham to demand the end of all sporting ties with Israel, a state that has committed genocide in the Gaza Strip & enforces a system of apartheid and illegal military occupation of Palestinian territory. Israeli sports cannot be allowed to sanitise these crimes.
Powerful messages here including from our patron @SalmaYaqoob and @BrumStWC secretary Rob Horsfield on why we say #KickIsraelOutOfFootball

We've joined leading British MPs, writers, trade unionists, and peace campaigners in signing this statement initiated by @VenSolidarity against Trump's war on Venezuela.

How can Lisa Nandy's position be tenable? It seems she clearly misled the Parliament & public about the reasons why Maccabi Fans were banned from their match against Villa. It wasn't antisemitism. Police confirm it was due to the threat caused by a section of Maccabi hooligans.
EXCLUSIVE: 'Significant hooliganism' within Maccabi Tel Aviv fan base is reason for Aston Villa match ban Full story from Sky's @RobHarris ⬇️ trib.al/oqyNtHv

West Midlands police confirm Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were banned because of the threat they posed to the British public, specifically referencing Amsterdam. Keir Starmer and the entire UK political and media class lied to the British public to protect Israel and its genocide

1500 strong protest outside Villa Park tonight with a clear message: Maccabi Tel Aviv are not welcome in Birmingham, and Israel are not welcome in Football #KickIsraelOutOfFIFA @STWuk
Large and vocal protest outside the Aston Villa ground to say kick Israel out of UEFA and all international sport. There can be no normalisation of a genocidal, apartheid state.
