NEWS: Tesla has introduced a new car rental program at select U.S. stores. You can rent a Tesla for up to 7 days starting at $60/day. It includes FSD (Supervised) and free Supercharging for the entire rental. If you order a new Tesla within 7 days of your rental, you’ll get a $250 discount on your purchase.

Designing an inference chip for robots is actually very difficult. In data centers each chip is bathed in jacuzzi and babysat by nannies. If they died it would be hot swapped by one of their clones. The fault rate of GPUs in datacenter is actually quite high. Industrial average annual fault rate of H100 is 9%. Ideal conditions could reduce it down to 2% but never below a single digit. The fault recovery of GPU nodes actually could take a while, from minutes to hours. It is not instantaneous. In robots, the chips are out in the cold and they need rapid self recovery. The fault tolerance is in a different league. It is not uncommon many robotic companies struggle to get the chip running more than a few hours without rebooting. For chip companies, this is great since they would tell robotic companies to buy more chips for hot swapping. For robotic companies, this is bad since it is obviously not a scaleable solution but they are stuck with endless back-and-forth JIRA tickets with vendors.

NEWS: The Carl Junction Police Department in Missouri has added two @Tesla Model Ys to its fleet. "To fill it up from zero to 100% is roughly $2.30. In comparison in fuel, if gas was $2 a gallon, which currently it’s not, $2 at 12 gallons is $24. Most of the time, we had to fill up our old gas-powered vehicle at least once a day, but the Tesla can go up to 3 days before needing a charge."

Since our bylaws generally consider abstention as votes against, this was not approved under the bylaw standard. NEWS: Rivian has announced that it is giving its CEO, RJ Scaringe, a revised pay package worth as much as $4.6 billion over the next decade, and the deal’s structure will be performance-based. Performance-Based Conditions Stock Price Hurdles: • 22 million shares (11 tranches of 2 million each) are tied to stock price targets. • Each tranche vests only if the company’s average stock price reaches a certain level for 120 consecutive trading days. • Targets range from $40 to $140, in $10 increments: $40, $50, $60, $70, $80, $90, $100, $110, $120, $130, $140 • If a stock price hurdle isn’t reached within 10 years from the Grant Date, that tranche is forfeited.
