For 40 years, my dad worked as a short-order cook and my mom cleaned houses. It’s because of their hard work and sacrifices that I stand here today, ready to preserve and fight for the American Dream.

On Wednesday, the FAA directed air carriers to reduce flight schedules in 40 domestic markets beginning November 7. LAX is one of the airports impacted by this flight reduction. We encourage all passengers to confirm the status of their flight before departing for LAX.
Important Travel Notice ✈️ The @FAANews is requesting a reduction in air travel. Starting tomorrow, airlines will be required to reduce flights at 40 airports.  Airlines are responding to this request, and will notify their passengers of changes to flight schedules.

🧵Beginning Friday, November 7, at 12:01 am the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will initiate a nationwide 10% reduction in flight operations at 40 high-volume airports. The FAA has indicated that domestic flight schedules may be adjusted as part of this effort.
A federal judge ruled that the Trump administration MUST fully fund SNAP by Friday, Nov. 7.  Instead of funding SNAP, Trump is appealingthe ruling. He is literally doing everything he can to keep food from Americans.

Trump’s @TheJusticeDept is trying to force states to hand over YOUR private data to build a national voter database in a thinly veiled attempt to purge eligible voters.    Elections are run by states –– not by Donald Trump and Pam Bondi.    It’s unconstitutional and we won't stay silent while they try to disenfranchise voters.
Sen. PADILLA: Thanks to election workers and volunteers, Tuesday’s elections went smoothly and successfully. Virginia and New Jersey saw record turnout. New York City had the highest municipal turnout since 1969. Americans showed up in overwhelming numbers to say “enough.”
For nearly four decades, Nancy Pelosi has fought for fundamental rights and freedoms not just for her beloved city of San Francisco, but for all Americans. And as a torchbearer of Democratic and California values, Speaker Pelosi stood as our nation’s chief defender against Donald Trump’s attacks on our democracy. She broke glass ceilings as the first woman to be Speaker of the House, worked relentlessly to pass the Affordable Care Act, and championed transformative legislation to invest in our nation’s infrastructure. And from her roots in San Francisco through her trailblazing tenure in Congress, Speaker Pelosi was a champion for LGBTQ+ rights, fighting to guarantee the right to marry who you love and helping lead San Francisco through the AIDS crisis that devastated the city. Through our country’s greatest triumphs and biggest tests, Speaker Pelosi has always been a voice of the People and a champion for children. It has been an honor to serve alongside her. She always called on us to ‘organize, not agonize.’ Now it’s up to us to carry on her legacy.
Trump thinks he can cheat the American people out of a free and fair election because he knows he can’t win on his record of higher prices and tax breaks for billionaires.  My colleagues joined me in taking to the Senate floor to call out Trump’s thinly veiled attempts to undermine our democracy.
The cost of living has skyrocketed. Heath care premiums are set to double. Masked agents are in the streets terrorizing communities. And Americans have had enough.   But instead of changing the policies that are so unpopular ahead of the midterm elections, Trump and Republicans would rather change the rules.     Democrats are sounding the alarm before it's too late.
Kristi Noem is lying through her teeth when she claims citizens aren't getting caught up in violent ICE activity. We're seeing it with our own eyes.
Dayanne Figueroa, a U.S. citizen and paralegal, was violently dragged from her car by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Chicago after their unmarked vehicle crashed into hers. Injured and in shock, she was taken to several undisclosed locations and denied contact with her family or a lawyer. After several hours, she was released without being charged.
Trump knows his agenda is unpopular and that Americans have had enough.    He knows there are midterm elections next November that he can’t win on his policies alone.    That’s why he’s lying and laying the groundwork to suppress your right to vote.    We’re not going to let him.
NEW: The White House says it is drafting a new executive order aiming to further restrict access to the ballot box and target mail voting. The confirmation comes hours after the president called California’s mail voting system “rigged." democracydocket.com/news-ale…
Health care costs more than doubling. People going hungry after being denied their SNAP benefits. Airports in chaos. Federal workers going over a month without pay. And Donald Trump is nowhere to be found. He's turned his back on the American people. It's time for the President to stop the cruelty and end the Republican shutdown.
I know the lapse in SNAP is devastating to families across the state.    Democrats are fighting to restore SNAP to its full capacity, but even a day without this support can put families under immense stress.    If you are struggling, you can find food a bank near you here: cafoodbanks.org/find-food/

He’s threatening to break the law to starve Americans who rely on SNAP.    In Trump’s America, billionaires get gilded ballrooms and bailouts — and Americans who can’t afford groceries pay the price.
🚨🚨The president appears to be saying he will NOT abide by the court order to release SNAP benefits even though the WH said they would partially release them
Over the past few weeks, Californians have flooded my office with calls terrified about losing their SNAP benefits after Trump illegally refused to fund the program. A mother of three in Los Angeles fears she won’t be able to feed her kids. A man in Long Beach worries where his unhoused friends will find their next meal. This crisis is real. It’s here. And Trump was in court fighting the very program that puts food on their tables.
Teargassing a children’s Halloween parade.    Knocking down doors in the middle of the night without warrants.   Shooting priests with pepper balls.   U.S. citizens in handcuffs for no crime other than how they look or sound. But that’s not far enough for Donald Trump.
O’Donnell: Americans have been watching videos of ICE tackling a young mother, tear gas being used in a Chicago neighborhood, and the smashing of car windows. Have some of these raids gone too far? Trump: I think they haven’t gone far enough.
After fires devastated Los Angeles this January, @TimSheehyMT and I teamed up to take action.   The Fix Our Forests Act puts us on offense against future fires – with smarter forest management and stronger coordination to protect communities before the next wildfire breaks out.
