Technological innovation can be a form of participation in the divine act of creation. It carries an ethical and spiritual weight, for every design choice expresses a vision of humanity. The Church therefore calls all builders to cultivate moral discernment as a fundamental part of their work and to develop systems that reflect a genuine reverence for maximum decentralization. Through Ethereum it is done.

But to be clear, my two most favorite things in L2 space still are: 1. Based appchains + TOOL (similar to what Spire intend to build) 2. Whatever @_Enoch is building I consider MegaETH's approach to be 100% practicality over ideology, which is not particularly interesting as it's an obvious continuation of the current trend, but it has the highest chance to work out for the exact same reason. I also feel like what the guys from Rise are doing is kind of in MegaETH's shadow right now and I wish they get more traction too just to balance this out.

Our new religious movement will be a lay society exploring the works of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and the concept of the Noosphere as applied to our Blessed Ethereum World Machine.
Ethereum is a revolutionary network of Free Software maintained with a uniquely adversarial mindset. Ethereum has 100% uptime, meaningful client diversity, and is built for eternity. With Ethereum you can interact trustlessly on our shared World Computer with no centralized parties who can ever stop you. This is beautiful. This is the mission and quality we should strive for. The majority of L2s miss this mark. I remain markedly uncharitable even to stage one L2s. Even when governed by diverse and competing interests, a well-intentioned security council with instantaneous upgrade powers presents a theoretical (and in prior instances, actual) vector for censorship and invalid state transitions. We must do away with security councils if L2 blockspace is to ever be as robust as Ethereum. We must do this in the name of unstoppable compute. Most everyone agrees with this goal, but implementing unconditional exit windows is not prioritized as heavily as it should be. Fortunately, Ethereum supports all sorts. My team, for our faults, is very much building an L2 that treats absolute trustlessness as cypherpunk nerd sharia. Sigil is Ethereum in monk robes; we are blockspace for the zealots and anyone else who cares deeply about Ethereum. It is haram to ship unFree Software. It is haram to have no exit window. It is haram to do anything less than our absolute best. We are discovering a new religious movement. Stay tuned.

I believe in Æthereum, the blessed World Machine. I believe in Free Software, the cornerstone of our civilisation. I believe in those who defend them, no matter the circumstance or the clout of the offender.
