The real truth about system QBs is that every single offense basically runs the same concepts but in a different font.
The good coaches are the ones that teach the concepts more effectively and who come up with creative ways to get into them, but the concepts are the concepts.
And the great QBs are just the ones that execute the concepts well 90% of the time, while the other 10% of the time use off-schedule dynamism to make the team right even when stuff goes wrong.
Feels like when people say "system QB" they just mean they don't have the extra 10% to make stuff work even when it doesn't. It's a narrow margin.
