BREAKING: Mark Wolf, appointed to the federal bench by Ronald Reagan, writes that he is resigning as a judge to have the freedom to speak out against the president's assault on the rule of law
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯 But only if D's have the foresight to invest big time in Texas, in the Senate Race and house, in massive advertising and mobilization. They have come late to the party for a number of years, get in early, to use a golf term, huge Risk reward situation.
The anti-GOP shift could boost Democrats’ chances of winning two or three of the five Texas seats that Republicans redrew And there could be more opportunities because to create the new seats, Republicans had to cut into previously safe GOP districts theatlantic.com/politics/202…

David Axelrod, as usual gets to the crux of the issue, and the challenge for us all, keeping out election system fair, and honest in the face to Trump's and R's attempt to corrupt it.
It is awesome and inspiring to watch the great wheel of democracy turn, when the American people have the ultimate say. The question is whether we allow any president or person in power to throw enough wrenches in the works to slow or stop the wheel from turning.

Meanwhile, TX GOPers looking at the results last night should not feel great about basing their hopes for flipping redrawn S. TX CD’s on Trump’s 2024 Latino performance.

Prepare for the West Wing demolition to begin tomorrow.

I'm no statistician but if I were the R's in Texas redrawing lines, and taking heavily D congressional votes and spreading them around (making some R districts marginal in a wave election) they may be making a huge mistake which could backfire resulting in larger D gains.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.

Republicans going on an insane, corrupt rampage to kill clean energy production with utility bills up 11% under Trump: Huge Loser.

Where is old Trumpty Dumpty tonight? He usually chimes in with some insult or lie, but he is taking such an ass whipping that he must be in a fetal position. Seriously: with this demonstration of political impotence will Senate R's get a spine? Will they help stem the madness.

Dick Cheney was a genuine conservative, a patriotic Republican, and a man who made hard calls in tough times, even when it meant being excommunicated from the GOP. Our thoughts are with his family.
Regarding Trump's 60 minute interview: I'm reminded of a wonderful saying I learned while managing a governors campaign in Texas, about someone like Trump who was a chronic lier. "He'd rather climb a tree and tell a lie, than stand on the ground and tell the truth".

Great work here by one of the best legal commentators, D's should draw the line. They should say that crimes committed will be prosecuted and worst offenders will be extradited to world court if law and facts dictate.
Today, Trump-Hegseth run out of time on War Powers Resolution and boat strikes. DOJ has come up with a theory why the law does not apply. It's wrong, and per this article, several GOP Senators and a Trump cabinet member flat rejected that theory when Obama tried it in 2011. 1/

New NBC Poll just adds to growing sentiment: - Trump is cooking Republicans. - Americans blame GOP for shutdown. - Americans want Dems to takeover Congress.
