Never been asked to sign a reader's shoe before 👀😄 Thanks @KASchoolLibrary & your brilliant, creative students. When students tell you their favourite books are The Shining and Of Mice & Men, you know you have some pretty advanced readers before you! 🙌 Happy writing & reading!
Thank you to the wonderful @SpareWriter for her visit with us yesterday. Our pupils had a fantastic time practicing some creative writing and learning all about her amazing new book! Thanks also to @Nightowlbooks for facilitating. #Knoxreads

Brilliant and heartbreaking interview with @nmgarrard by @lovereadingkids – especially the bit about the Year 5 boy let down by his zero-tolerance academy 😔 Have just added #OnTheEdge to my TBR pile – sounds excellent 🙌 lovereading4kids.co.uk/blog/…

PLEASE SHARE: FAMILY REUNION TO BE SUSPENDED TODAY THURSDAY 4 SEPT 2025 3PM DEADLINE! We have until 3 pm TODAY to assist 75 Palestinians to complete family reunion applications trying to reunite with their spouses, children and loved ones. For anyone else trying to apply for family reunion, here is the link: visas-immigration.service.go… Here is the Guidance: redcross.org.uk/get-help/fam… DIY: redcross.org.uk/-/media/docu…
Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has announced that the Government will temporarily suspend new applications for refugee family reunion, arguing that the existing rules were financially unsustainable, as refugees were now applying within weeks rather than years, and that they were unfair compared with the conditions imposed on British citizens and other migrants. The racialised double standards are obvious. Since 2022, over 200,000 Ukrainians were admitted without biometric checks, often on expired passports, with immediate rights to join family. And they did so. But when people of colour follow the same precedent, it is framed as rule breaking and “unfairness”. This decision will push more people into taking ever more dangerous journeys to reach safety and loved ones in the UK. Unless of course they are Palestinians entrapped inside sealed borders in Gaza and undergoing what human rights organisations, genocide scholars and Holocaust survivors call genocide. We have until 3 pm TODAY to assist 75 Palestinians trying to reunite with their spouses, children and loved ones. Read more: paih.org/refugee-families-ab…
