This just means that in advanced countries we read what we read on the internet rather than reading whatever irrelevant and long-winded refuse happens to be available locally. I recently visited two bookstores and they provided strong evidence that only midwit boomers and geezers are still reading a lot of books. That is a frightening graph, which in the case of the UK I find hard to believe, way back in the 1960's it was perhaps 3 in a class of 30 who had below 7 year old reading ability, this was in a time of austerity, but good teachers?
There was a time in my 73 years that America was in such high demand for the upper tier universities that many students, both foreign and domestic, were told sorry, maybe next year. America was the center for education with students and professors from all over the world.
