Halloween came and went, and the pumpkins got soft, collapsed, and eventually ended up in the trash.
But thanks to volumetric 3D capture, the moment doesn’t have to.
Before they turned to mush, I scanned them into a full Gaussian Splat scene. Now this little lineup lives on as an interactive 3D asset I can revisit, reuse, or even pair with next year’s carvings.
It’s a simple example, but it shows how quickly real-world memories can turn into lightweight digital assets - something far more flexible than a photo or video, and a lot more fun to build with.
From a few seconds of capture on my iPhone - to a fully spatial immortal asset!
