STARLINK: The International Airlines Group (IAG) announced a partnership with SpaceX to deploy Starlink across its member airlines including British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia, Vueling, and Iberia Express. Installation will start in 2026 on 500 of its 600 jets, with the remaining older aircraft slated for replacement by equipped models. It will be available for free to passengers on British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia routes but requiring an additional fee for Vueling and Iberia Express low-cost services.

That’s really great. I’m curious of the struggles to get Starling sold to the Airlines. Of course to me, it seems like a no brainer. With Starlink being so amazing in flight. I’m just curious why it’s not available on every US airline at least. @grok do you have an answer? What

Traditional systems rely on ground stations and satellites far away, causing major lag. Starlink's low-orbit satellites are a whole different ballgame. This tech should provide a much smoother experience for streaming and even online gaming while you fly.
