Passing some weather on our way to Palermo, where I flew an LPV approach which has the exact same minimum as the RNAV approach. I wonder what’s the point there. Thunderstorm. The rising Moon. Some more thunderstorms on the way back.

Have you seen the airports where the LNAV/VNAV minimum is lower than the LPV minimum, e.g. EDNY We have to switch off SBAS to force our avionics into enabling the LNAV/VNAV approach.

They are both rnav approaches but have different equipment requirements. The same minimums are probably due to obstacle constraints.
