That was genius on their part She's not the same actress in a different wig, they actually tried to make her look just slightly different enough to cover her features That way when Victor falls for Elizabeth, you can see that she just barely resembles his mother

It's the makeup and costuming. Frankenstein is gonna be At War with Wicked 2 in those Oscar categories. (And also production design, I think.)
