The award from @GitHub Awards 2023 arrived! Thank you for sending this to our team at @appwrite 🥰 I took a photo while it was sunny out yesterday. Unfortunately it's not made of real gold 😆

At the current growth rate, Appwrite Sites is projected to host more than 600,000 sites over the next 12 months. 🚀
Developers have been looking for a serious alternative to Vercel - and it shows. After nearly a year of building, Appwrite Sites has been live for just three months and is already hosting over 55,000 websites(!) - growing by more than 1,000 new sites every day (!) This is absolute madness. 🤯

I am looking for a full-time job. Being independent in open source for 3.5+ years has been wonderful. I've gotten done most of the high-level goals I wanted to, and miss having people & structure around me. If you know of a staff TypeScript+web developer role, let me know! 🙂
Every time I talk about open source, my eyes start tearing up 🥹 I've seen so many people during my 15 year career span go from a student and contributor to a very successful developer. Time has been going so fast, people I've mentored are now in higher level positions or even Founders now! Your first contribution isn't the end of the road. Remember, it's the start of something bigger and greater, and that's been my entire career journey. I had a great time speaking in todays Hacktoberfest's closing event today on how open source can build your career, and what's next. piped.video/watch?v=_5EN8hHV… Thanks to the @digitalocean @hacktoberfest team for having me!

So excited for this! We love @tan_stack <3 Hard work from our team is paying off. So many more announcements to come!
Appwrite Sites now supports @tan_stack Start 🔥 TanStack Start is making all the noise, and for good reason. It’s simple, type-safe, and built for devs who want control. Now, you can run TanStack Start with full Server-Side Rendering (SSR) directly on Appwrite Cloud. Zero configuration needed. Read the announcement to learn more: appwrite.io/blog/post/tansta…

I've given a talk in 2019 about devrel metrics. I've given a talk in 2021 about devrel metrics. My talk in 2025 about devrel metrics will be significantly different, and it's a combination of all my learnings of what makes REAL impact on company growth, revenue, and product. Great Developer Relations starts with your users. Every day I make it a goal to talk to a couple customers, in an authentic conversation to understand what they are building, what their biggest pain points have been, and what they've been enjoying the most. These simple conversations has led to great product improvements on our end as well as improving our DX consistently. It's too easy to focus too much on external advocacy. At Appwrite, we focus more on the internal side, but still making room for the latter. A good balance of this goes a long way :)

If you’re looking for an outstanding Developer Advocate to help grow your community and so much more, look no further than Roxy. Happy to provide a testimonial if needed, but once you meet her, you’ll quickly see why she’s advanced so far in her interviews — and you’ll feel lucky to have the chance to bring her on board.
I made it pretty far into the interview process for a community role. It didn’t work out, but I received feedback and will stay in motion. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and couldn’t have done it without the support of the community. Thank y’all so much. Something will stick soon. ❤️
Our team kept noticing devs were talking about TanStack, not from curiosity but actual genuine excitement :) We wanted to understand why. So we went on a little exploration journey to see what makes TanStack Start so loved, and how it’s quickly becoming a serious alternative to frameworks like Next.js. A little write up about Why developers are leaving nextjs for TanStack Start: appwrite.io/blog/post/why-de…
