~10 Sikh Soldiers fought for Canada in WWI while 620,000 Canadians, or 7.5% of the population fought for Canada. 60,000 of those men died.
In WWII ~100 Sikh fought for Canada while 1.1 million Canadians, or 9.5% of the population, went to war. 42,000 of those men died for Canada.
If you honoured a dead Canadian soldier on a stamp, every single day since the end of WWI you would have only honoured 38% of all the soldiers that sacrificed their lives.
This is a slap in the face to Canadians and Canadian Veterans, a disgrace to the pioneers and the bloodlines that built this nation.
In fact the Sikh’s refused conscription in WWII.
Lest We Forget.
Canada Post has a new Remembrance Day Stamp.
It is to honour the Sikh Soldiers.
