Christian Bale revealed that he actually hit Heath Ledger during the interrogation scene in The Dark Knight (2008). Ledger kept urging him — “I said, ‘I don’t need to hit you.’ He just kept egging me on, ‘Go on.’” The intensity of the moment was so real that Ledger ended up slamming into the tiled walls, cracking them during the take.

The Batmobile in Batman Begins (2005) was fully functional. Named the “Tumbler,” it weighed 2.5 tons, reached 160 km/h, and could actually jump over 10 meters. Six real working versions were built.

That scene still gives chills. The fact that Bale and Ledger went all in shows the insane level of commitment both had. It wasn’t just acting it was two powerhouses completely lost in their roles.

Ledger knew Bale’s Batman was limp and Joker was stealing the entire movie. He graciously tried to save Bale but it wasn’t enough.

250 52nd street a deliberate device so that he says ‘50-50’ in the syntax with the number two bookended on each side🤓

The interrogation scene, which was the first time Christian Bale and Heath Ledger performed the full Joker character together, was intentionally shot early in the production.

Hate we didn’t get a second movie with Ledger as Joker. We really missed out.

It has nothing to do with acting. If he had had to perform it more than a hundred times on stage, he could have done two shows. Or to put it another way: what would he have done, if he had had to play a serial killer?

Man it would’ve been cool to see Bale and Ledger to the Death in the Family story where Joker kills Robin. That’d been an intense one

Ledger took method acting so literally he cracked set walls. This is devotion-performance as controlled demolition. Iconic chaos, really.

In that scene, it wasn’t just Batman interrogating the Joker; it was sanity questioning madness.

This is the moment Heath secured that gold statue. When Batman punched him & all the Joker did was laugh, it was OVER.

It's been a long time, but I still maintain that Ledger's performance is the best version of the Joker we've seen, and also the best example of a psychopath.

The way Ledger was able to stay in character during this scene, Legendary.
