Red carded: My account was suspended by X for a supposed rule violation (see attached). A prime example of what happens when algorithmic enforcement replaces human judgment. Turns out that while AI might be intelligent it is not yet totally fluent in English.
Despite the much publicised view of Donald Trump and others, London has been crowned the Best City In the World for the 11th year in a row. A spokesperson for the White House reportedly claimed that it was fake news. #ukpolitics secretldn.com/london-best-ci…

An offer to me in 2022 to stand in as a presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live - a job that could have led to many years of work - was rescinded after protests by right wing journalists and the Tory party because I had expressed left-leaning political opinions when I was NOT working for the BBC. You might think I feel bitter towards the BBC about that. Not a bit. It is one of Britain’s greatest institutions. We are witnessing attempts to tear it down by those with vested political and/or commercial interests. Of course it should be scrutinised and held to account on both accuracy and impartiality. But if we lose it at the behest of its detractors, we risk losing ourselves irretrievably in a swamp of mis and disinformation.
Michael Rosen nails it again, "Tim Davie", a "clear case of left-wing bias". As edited in the style of Panorama?
Tim Davie was privately educated, went to Cambridge and was a Tory candidate and deputy chair of a local Conservative Party Association. Clear case of left-wing bias. If the left wing rot's gotta stop, then we need to start with private schools, Cambridge and the Tory Party.
It's the way that you tell 'em that matters in news reporting.
Just a quick reminder that the @BBC reversed their footage from Orgreave during the miners strike. They made it appear that miners attacked police first. The opposite was true. Years later blamed it on an editing error. No apology. Anybody care? No. Only bothered about Trump.

The fall of Tim Davie is a victory for populists , for a cabal of toxic plotters with links to the BBC board - who designed and executed a coup - and the circular firing squad in the UK press. It is not a good day for our values or our country.
Peak irony: Another politician who by profession is biased, calls out the BBC for bias.
The #BBC’s problem was a failure to recognise its own bias. I raised issue this with senior BBC management on numerous occasions. Credulous reporting of Hamas propaganda as fact, selective editing of President Trump, not pulling the Bob Villain feed, the rebuke of Martine Croxall, etc etc They saw each “mistake” as being in isolation and couldn’t or wouldn’t see a wider pattern. I hope that this episode will trigger a broader look at bias, groupthink, and political fashion within the BBC by the BBC. I want the BBC to succeed, it’s a powerful British brand, but it needs a proper kick up the arse for that to happen. Perhaps this is it.

What has happened today at the BBC is nothing short of a coup, a national disgrace, the corporation's board has effectively been undermined and elements close to it have worked with hostile newspaper editors, a former PM and enemies of public service broadcasting. The only honourable players here are Tim Davie and Deborah Turness.

Personally, I think it’s insane that we expect the director general of the BBC to be across the particulars of every edit of every single programme. The panorama programme was a disgrace. But what does the resignation of the DG do to help the matter?

Must have made you curious - who is stopping all this life-saving aid from being delivered? Did you find out? Do tell
In Jordan last week I saw warehouses full of aid still waiting to get into Gaza even though families are still going hungry. All aid routes must be opened and aid restrictions lifted now.
