In The Bitcoin Standard (pp. 247–248), Ammous warns of “The Rise in Cost of Nodes and Drop in Their Numbers. . .This remains in my opinion the most serious technical threat to Bitcoin in the medium and long run.” The Core/Knots crisis cannot be dismissed lightly. @Saifedean @NickSzabo4 @adam3us @stephanlivera @mattkratter @GrassFedBitcoin @LukeDashjr @ToneVays @jimmysong @giacomozucco @TheGuySwann @saylor @coryklippsten @jackmallers @nic__carter @CryptoHayes @mattkratter @LawrenceLepard @boomer_btc @GaryLeland @Jethroe111 @rot13maxi @constructdisrup @Beatriz_Ape @JuanSGalt @knutsvanholm
User nodes without proof of work are not nodes according to that network, and don't participate in the Bitcoin network, so are irrelevant. If they can't express acceptance with proof of work then they aren't participating. They are just watching. Any reaction to what they see can only be outside that network, and economic. Just like SPV. The entire argument for small blocks is based on an incorrect understanding.

I've been writing Bitcoin software for 7 years. I've implemented a full node from scratch, plus other similar pieces of software. I've done my homework. If you have a point then make it here.

To Bitcoin University - Just as you have to admit you don't know something to know it, pretending to know is a dangerous thing and it makes the world a mess.

The home "node" narrative is total bullshit to sell useless hardware. NODES = MINERS anything else is just larping. Read the whitepaper.
