BREAKING UPDATE: Detectives have arrested Nereyda Miranda in connection with a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that killed a 3-year-old child.
Investigators determined that trash bags on the windshield of Miranda’s vehicle obstructed her view as she left a trailer court, where she planned to dispose of the bags.
At the time of the crash, a father was repairing a bike on the side of the road with his two children standing nearby. The vehicle struck both children, killing the 3-year-old.
Miranda was booked into the Utah County Jail on a charge of manslaughter, a second-degree felony.
