Big sky country today up at Riccarton, where we've been
mapping Japanese Knotweed stands for treatment next year on the Murrayburn.
Bag of rubbish collected from the layby as well.
In Edinburgh briefly on Friday so walked a couple of miles of the Water of Leith. Trout from Glenogle Place bridge; Dipper at Dean bridge probably appearing, unnoticed, in hundreds of tourist photos; Heron and Kingfisher behind Modern One.
Great to have young people from Portobello, Firrhill, and WHEC out at the visitor centre today with the JET Academy, learning some vocational skills for employment. We raked off leaves, keeping the boardwalk and paths safe, and cut back some overhanging privat. Great job guys! ✈️

They seek the rubbish here, they seek the rubbish there, volunteers seek it everywhere.
Thus it was great to get a hand from employees of @thetrainline , who have been out over the past two weeks cleaning up their local stretch of the walkway as part of their working day.
A good turn out of volunteers for our monthly clean up of Leith.
The boat team removed lots of waste that had been washed down including 2 litter carts, whilst on dry land we continued to clear leaves to keep the walkway in good order.

In a look back at October's 2 min 'Wildlife on the Water of Leith' video, a tawny owl has a bath in the river, a spooky looking fox at Halloween & find out why a young roe deer doesn't need Deliveroo on the #waterofleith! Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Colinton Dell today and did such an amazing job! The paths and steps are now clear and safe between Katesmill and the village, signage clean, and invasives removed. Many hand make light work! Legends🙌
Built in 1824, St Bernard's Bridge beautifully spans over the tranquil Water of Leith in Stockbridge. This grand, Jacobean-style stone staircase is believed to have likely been added around 1888 during the restoration of St Bernard's Well, funded by William Nelson.
A changeable morning on the walkway between West Mill Rd and Upper Spylaw Farm. We gave the walkway a good sweep off, refreshed the drainage ditches, cut back some encroaching vegetation, & had tea in the rain before planting bulbs in the sunshine. Great work folks, thanks! ☔🌞
Some beautiful autumn colours on show today in Craiglockhart Dell.
This morning we ran a water safety training session for @GreenTeamEdin staff to share our knowledge.
Of course we took them for a wade so they could experience the water first hand.
Out west today at a Walk Funding Network meeting with @walking_scot wonderful to hear about other projects which align with our work on the Water of Leith, but as always the river stole the show..#riverclyde
Blue sky yesterday on a late October afternoon around the #Balgreen#Saughton area of #Edinburgh In pics the old Jenners Depository (listed building), Saughton Park and Gardens,
Water Of Leith @WOLCT

A power of work done by the staff team from @salesforce this morning at Redbraes and St Marks.
They removed old fencing from the woods, planted bulbs by the wildflower meadow and then improved the walkway by sweeping thousands of leaves.
👏👏👏
