I'm once again asking if it's possible to get an 01 visa for Iranian brickworkers.

To be fair to the builders, they were probably Afghans.

Just wondering, did anyone reach out to encourage you to post lovely Iranian brickwork?

Why would Iranians want to work in America?

If they came and tried to build this here they’d be slapped with 50 regulations and thirty retirees complaining how it’s ruining the skyline.

YES! It actually is! The O-1 is literally the visa of artisan craftsman of choice. So a "master mason" can literally put together a portfolio of published works and gain entrance based on that traditional craft knowledge. But like, it will be scrutinized intensely for the actual artistic value. And then any renewal will be like: "so what have you done lately?" ... the mason would have to open a company, have trained a team, and be producing off the chain shit like in Tehran if they want to renew. I've hired more than one O-1 architect through the years.

You can hire some workers and architects from Córdoba, Argentina too.

Absolutely. I’ve been seeing so much of the Iranian work of late. Stunning and masterful. I wish we’d see that sort of masonry in UK and US modern architecture.

Iranian architecture is underrated. Imagine combining this Iranian brickwork with the Adobe of the Southwest US.

Tiny Archives would sponsor if we had financial resources to back it. Tho' we are USCIS eVerified. I would love to see Iranian brick work in our towns and smaller cities. 🧱🇮🇷🕊️

They're probably better off not being in the US

they’re absolutely gorgeous but isn’t this primarily to allow air to flow through bc they don’t have air conditioning?
Replying to @YIMBYLAND
Honestly, we don't deserve them!

We have that talent here, no visas necessary! We just need developers to open their purse and fund beautiful masonry projects in the us again!

If you get them, send them to me when you are done!!! I will say the Burmese masons are top notch as well.

Sadly even if they come it wouldn't go ahead as the developers would probably be asked to prepare countless performance solutions because it doesn't meet the DTS of the NCC. ☹️

If it can be established by preponderance of evidence that the master brick mason is an internationally recognized authority in that style? Possible. The master craftsman would be the "principal alien" & the journeymen & apprentices under him would be classified as support staff

As if they'd be stupid enough to take the risk

So they can come here and sit around waiting on permits?

When you got folks who can build things that last, they ought to be welcomed with open arms. It just makes good sense to bring in the best craftsmen, no matter where they hail from. We need those solid skills right here, plain and simple.
