I'm using this to get off of my chest some of my observations that I did between this account and my private one. I beg of you all to not start riots or useless drama (because, even if you did, I wouldn't reply since I'm pretty busy with irl things as for rn)
There's a lot I want to say, to be fair. But I'll start gradually:
1) Yumetwt has lost the conception of community. In my eyes I see this subtwt the same as it was my high school class relationships between peers: united, but only if you need to be polemical on trivial things. —
Which is ironic and sad, considering we should be united in favour of loving and cherishing each other's ships and our owns, not to be blatantly toxic every business day.
2) People are never satisfied. If you are a prompt or gimmick acc most of the people complain about —
not getting the things they want (e.g. "my f/o isn't human", "this doesn't apply to my ship" and so on) instead of being critical (like CALMLY reporting if you're doing something wrong) or submitting prompts in order to have a full-vision for all the ships —
(e.g. like "Hey, may you add in your next prompt *variation of previous prompts*?). If you want content, try to help or suggest those pages, because complaining doesn't get you anything instead of working actively. I remind you that there are real people under these accs. —
3) Related to 2, people have a tendency to forget that prompts serve mostly as inspiration, not to take them literally. If you don't find useful that prompt or want to do more, use your creativity. I personally write generalised prompts so multiple people can fit their ships —
in it, but it's as clear as the sky that it's impossible to include everyone because every ship is unique and that's ok.
4) Yumetwt will say that you don't need to have art or merch of your f/o and that your love for them is enough, which is true and shouldn't be debatable. —
Then why do people engage only or primarily with people that share their c♡mms or merch while other people do not have that engagement? The love is equal. And this problem is seen especially when you have other ways to share your love, such as writing, editing, etc. —
I've seen someone saying "why do you lament? Just pick a pen or use a base".
And I agree, but do you realise that art takes time? And drawing isn't the only way to talk about your yumes. It's about substance, not apparent images.
// End.
I started to feel anxiety. Because I felt like that every single thing that I've posted was under examination. And if people go private or leave this side of Twitter I do understand them, because I couldn't put positivity in a place where toxicity is too prevalent.
