That is why the US is a Republic. The founders saw democracy as majority rule without safeguards; a republic was majority rule bounded by a constitution and the rule of law.

How does no nation have some rough intelligence test to get a voting license? Even setting that bar below average would fix an enormous number of issues. The higher it is set, the better the outcome.
