Celebrated my 29th birthday doing what I love most: talking about Ethereum. @grayscale killed it with their new ETP launch, and I had a blast talking about institutional privacy at Nextfin @NYSE. Up next? @EFDevcon

It’s been a long week, spreading the good word of Ethereum in both Hong Kong & New York. One thing is clear though — the journey that we’ve all been on, integrating Ethereum globally, is on track. We are slowly but surely enabling the storage of more value onchain & this is almost certainly better for all of us building the future.

We need to do a lot more of this, there is a huge gap in knowledge bases, that of traditional finance & that of onchain finance.
Over the last couple months, I have worked alongside several DeFi protocols to integrate @Securitize assets and have learned a great deal from them in terms of how to provide support going forward. I'll be collating these and (eventually) writing up a long list of FAQs. It's pretty cool to work at the confluence of DeFi / TradFi. Here are three questions I have found particularly relevant that came up just this week: Q1: Can a protocol use "test tokens" to run thru flows? A1: No you can't "test" with securities - although it may seem like a very normal ask to run thru flows with test tokens (nearly every DeFi protocol will ask this...), you cannot run test with actual securities. But at Securitize we do have some workarounds here to help teams run test flows. Q2: Can a user deposit their assets into a protocol immediately after subscribing? A2: Depends. Some assets require a 24hr (or more) window after minting to allow for transfers. Yes I know this may be a surprise to those of us used to DeFi's speed... Q3: Are these markets entirely permissioned? A3: No. Only the side of the market that requires KYC - this is the beauty of supporting DeFi. Users can post collateral as a KYC'd asset and then borrow stables to earn DeFi yield.

AI that is 1000x the speed of humans & the role of Ethereum within that world — @VitalikButerin
It’s a pleasure to be involved in communicating Ethereum’s attributes to such a receptive audience in Singapore — see you there ⚡️
As Ethereum matures, new bridges are forming between open networks and public institutions. In the 10th anniversary year of both Ethereum and the Singapore FinTech Festival, #SFF2025 will host "Ethereum in the Spotlight", a gathering of leaders from policy, finance, and technology to explore how open networks can responsibly reach institutional adoption and shape the next generation of public infrastructure for identity, privacy, and digital finance. 🗓 11 Nov, 3–6PM 📍Sands Expo, Level 4, Design Thinking Room RSVP / details : luma.com/a29okjzh insightsforum.gftn.co/agenda…

Generally speaking multi-party issued stablecoins are key to the future. The USD is a multi-party issued currency. Banks plugged into the Fed.
The EU's stablecoin own rules created a backdoor for US financial dominance. The "multi-issuer loophole": - EU entities must redeem stablecoins at par, no fees - US entities can charge redemption fees - In a crisis, everyone redeems through the EU - US reserves get ring-fenced for US holders only - EU entity holds the bag for BOTH jurisdictions MiCA forces EU issuers to operate under the world's free redemption window, while the US protects its own. The European Systemic Risk Board calls this an "urgent" threat to financial stability. Their own October 2025 report admits the EU framework "undermines financial stability". Europe regulated itself into becoming America's financial shock absorber. I'll be at the @bluechip_org conference tomorrow discussing stablecoins.

It was great honor to have our CIO Gavin Wang with @tkstanczak from @ethereumfndn exploring how #Ethereum is laying the foundation for the next-gen financial infrastructure in #HKFTW. As institutions adopt blockchain, security remains the non-negotiable foundation for mainstream trust. From scalability to institutional tooling, the roadmap is clear. Proud to help drive this future from Asia. Tomasz also shared insights on the institutional adoption of blockchain technology, including key use cases and examples, mentioning that over 70% of RWA and 60% of stablecoins are deployed on Ethereum.

When you understand Ethereum you realize nothing in crypto is close. Other chains are chasing slot times and TPS. Only bitcoin and ethereum are chasing decentralization. And bitcoin has decided (so far) not to upgrade to snarks cryptography and scale. End game bullish.

Ethereum is a protocol. Many teams around the world working 24/7 to push the boundaries of science and engineering. That’s why it’s the place for institutions AND cypherpunks to be.
Ethereum hasn’t changed. The values are encoded within the technology. Financial Institutions have changed. They’ve realized that the immense amount of effort invested by Ethereum researchers & core developers to design & build an unstoppable network is hugely relevant in terms of the way value is to be stored & transacted — today & in the future.
