Your body is the only friend that never leaves. Listen to it before it stops speaking.

When Kobe Bryant said his insane level of confidence came from knowing he’d done all he could to prepare, it taught me that anytime I’m nervous it means I didn’t prepare enough.

there is a version of yourself that must die tonight. the one who waits, the one who doubts, the one who starts, then stops. the one who dreams, but does nothing about it. that version of you has been given too much time, too much comfort, and too much power. and if you do not destroy him tonight, he will destroy everything you came here to become. you know him well. he makes promises, then breaks them. he speaks of greatness but lives in hesitation. he fears criticism, blames the world, and explains failure. he walks in the costume of potential but has never once stepped into it. he has robbed you of years, maybe decades. he has wasted opportunities, silenced your will, turned you into a coward, and invited fear into your house. and tonight, he dies. not by chance but by decision.

In the beginning, everything takes time, a lot of time. You struggle to understand, to connect the dots, to build mental models. It feels slow, frustrating, and never-ending. But if you keep learning properly from the fundamentals, by actually thinking, practicing, and debugging your own understanding, something magical happens over time. Your brain starts recognizing patterns. Concepts that once took hours start taking minutes. And the same things that used to feel complex start feeling obvious. Gradually, your time decreases, your clarity increases, and your performance improves a lot. At some point, it just clicks and you realize you’ve become fast as hell, not because you rushed, but because you built real understanding. Slow → solid → fast.

to all the young swe engineers who just started working full-time – i beg you to contribute to open source. find problems in the software you use every day and try to understand the codebase: how it’s written, how things are structured, why the developers chose to use MIN_THRESHOLD_SCORE to convert a linkedlist to a red-black tree to avoid collisions, or why the time complexity of a method is o(m * n) when it could be improved to o(m * log n) with a heap-based approach. push yourself into the world by “finding problems” and then “solving them.” here, few things happens: 1) you learn to recognize patterns in how software is written in large codebases. 2) you stop being afraid to write code in languages you’re not familiar with. 3) your natural inclination to solve even the "tiniest" problems grows. when you start fixing the "tiniest" issues that bother you - the ones that you’re super annoyed about, and without solving them the world isn’t a better place to live in - you’ll notice those tiny improvements compound and eventually solve bigger, more complex problems over time. have a sense of urgency, curiosity, and a drive to challenge "conventional wisdom". that’s how you build innovative and creative things.

It's pretty simple. Wake up early. Complete the single highest priority task. Avoid the destination society set for you at birth. Make giant mistakes. Mistakes are the launchpads toward your ideal life. Always be building a project. Youth is the greatest currency, it would be wise to invest it. If you wasted your youth, crying about it isn't going to speed up the process. You're supposed to feel overwhelmed, it means you're learning. Set aside 30 minutes daily for deliberate boredom (to unfuck your dopamine sensitivity). Walk more. Read more. Write more. Writing is how you practice thinking. Thinking is how you make better decisions. The outcome of your life is determined by the sum of your decisions. Force yourself to do something you've never done before, at least once a week. Learn something new. Talk to someone new. Book a one way plane ticket. Move into that place you can't afford. Because you need pressure. Real pressure. Launch yourself into the situation of your future self and see if you have what it takes.
