His dad worked for Getty oil
BREAKING - Conservatives are ruthlessly mocking Gavin Newsom after he debuted a new accent and a fabricated backstory, claiming he was so poor while growing up that he had to eat bread and mac and cheese just to pay the bills. (His parents were millionaire socialites.)

At age 25 he co-founded a winery in SF with investors including FAMILY FRIEND Gordon Getty, son of oil magnate J. Paul Getty. Made him a multi-millionaire by age 32. Willie Brown was an early political mentor. Those are some tough streets to conquer, Gav.

Newsom is California royalty. He has never had to work a day in his life.

What Newsom is saying about his upbringing clearly isn’t true - but even if it were, it highlights how boys “raising themselves” on TV and Wonderbread results in them becoming sociopaths (and in his case, an adulterer and addict) as adults.

William A. Newsom III, the father of California Governor Gavin Newsom, had a multi-faceted career as a judge, a private practice lawyer, and a financial manager for the prominent Getty family.  His work history includes: •Judge: Newsom was a respected judge for many years, appointed by then-Governor Jerry Brown. He first served on the Placer County Superior Court in 1975 before being appointed to the state Court of Appeal in San Francisco in 1978, where he served until his retirement in 1995. •Lawyer: Early in his career, he worked in private practice, specializing in environmental law. He worked with clients such as the Sierra Club and the League to Save Lake Tahoe. •Getty Family Advisor: Newsom was a longtime close friend and advisor to oil tycoon Gordon Getty and managed the Gordon P. Getty Family Trust. He also served as an attorney for Getty Oil in the late 1960s. This close relationship included delivering ransom money during the 1973 kidnapping of J. Paul Getty III, Gordon's nephew.

The Getty's also paid Gavin for "investment advice". Because ... oil barons need investment advice. Gavin's uncle is Paul Pelosi, the most successful stock trader in history I think and the reason (with no help from wife Nancy Pelosi) in making those investment decisions. x.com/i/grok/share/4k3UnjC0u… Yeah, sure...Gavin was a sandwich and macaroni kid....

No, Gavin Newsom's father, William Newsom, did not abandon them, although his parents did separate and divorce when Gavin was young. After the divorce, William Newsom was still involved in Gavin's life, and Gavin has said he spent time with his father on weekends and summers.  •Parental separation: William Newsom and Gavin's mother, Tessa, separated when Gavin was 2 years old and divorced three years later. •Continued involvement: Despite the separation, William Newsom remained a part of Gavin's life, with Gavin spending occasional weekends and summers with him. •Father's influence: Gavin has spoken about his father's influence, citing his father's focus on social justice, racial justice, and the environment as a key part of his own political development.

His dad was Judge Newsom in SF. The day my daughter got her first communion, we were at the Balboa Cafe (co-owned with Gettys) and Judge Newsom handed my daughter a $100 and congratulated her. I handed his money back and said “thank you.”

Here's Newsom as a teenager versus Vance who truly did grow up poor as dirt. I'm sick of democrats pretending they still rep the working class when they abandoned us YEARS ago.

He was born a poor black man..who posed with his then wife Kimberly Guilfoyle (who he cheated on) at Anne Getty’s Pacific Heights multi-million dollar mansion on a $30,000 rug, in a Hugo Boss Tuxedo, while she dripped in Cartier jewelry. Yes, so poor. So relatable!
