Even better if we have some kind of commentary in and around the codebase of what makes that code worthy of study.

I've come across some code by Arthur Whitney that I think might fit the bill. But are there any agreed upon codebases that have been open sourced that are generally regarded as masterworks?

A fundamental component of classical art training was copying works by masters. What are the masterworks of software engineering?
Been diving into #clojure and #clojurescript recently. As is my wont, I did the #7gui tasks with it (clojurescript and reagent). Feedback welcome! Here's the repo: urlnet.xyz/NMc

Query imports for user scipts in networked #toolsforthought . Yay or nay? Is it worth monkeying with javascript to allow user code to behave in a more networked fashion? @Conaw @codexeditor @RoamResearch (Using Roam-like query syntax at the moment)

One big advantage of using annotations instead of markup is that you can place links in blocks of code. You also get to avoid the mode differences between blocks with focus and blocks without focus. There's no markup display/hide. @Conaw @codexeditor #toolsforthought

Using #sinuous components with `import` and `export` #toolsforthought. At the moment, this only works to produce output between blocks. But eventually, you'll be able to use the widgets you write in conjunction with slash commands within your blocks.

Messing with previews and highlighting all annotations that point to the same content on hover. #toolsforthought

Using Cmd-Enter to evaluate a block. The $ stores the result of the last computation.

Some protesters, news crews, and medics in Minneapolis found themselves stranded after recent protests: The tires of their cars had been slashed. Many assumed protesters were to blame. But videos reveal a different culprit: the police. bit.ly/30nl8XQ

Market solution to police misconduct. Pay police more but force all police officers to buy market priced insurance that pays out if he/she is caught engaging in misconduct. The insurance market will investigate individual officers and charge very high rates to most at risk.
