Both we and YHWH know intimately the state of our hearts—whether we have chosen to surrender to temptation or have simply lost the battle against it.
The most faithful response is to confess not only our transgressions but also the condition of our soul in that moment.
Let us not offer excuses before YHWH, as though He were unaware.
To do so is neither to honor Him nor to fear Him as God, but to mock Him—as if He were a blind and mute idol, easily deceived.
And let us not presume that forgiveness is automatic simply because we struggled and failed.
Forgiveness is not ours to claim, but to humbly receive.
And with it, we must also receive His gift of repentance—so that we may turn from defeat to victory in Christ.
