Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a stark warning today amid the worsening water crisis throughout the nationโs capital, stating that the government may be forced to order the total evacuation of Tehran if the water situation does not improve by December.
The Karaj Dam, which has a max capacity of 180 million cubic feet and supplies drinking water to Tehran and a neighboring province, is said to currently be at 7% of its storage capacity, with clean water expected to run out in roughly two weeks, according to Mehdi Maghsoudi, the Director of Karaj Water Affairs.
