🚨BREAKING: After 40 days, Senate Democrats finally caved and voted to reopen the government - putting us on the path to end the Schumer Shutdown.
Arizona’s own @RubenGallego and @CaptMarkKelly voted EVERY time to keep it closed, forcing Arizonans to miss paychecks, experience flight delays/cancellations, and endure financial hardship.
This shutdown was completely unnecessary. Democrats chose politics over people, and they own it entirely. And for what? To give healthcare to millions of illegal immigrants.
This bill now goes to the House for final passage so we can get back to work!
Let this be a reminder that AZ voters deserve leaders who put Arizonans FIRST.

For the people who keep claiming "Trump & the Republicans are racist” read this:
The President who went after the Ku Klux Klan was a Republican.
Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President.
He signed the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871
and sent in federal troops to enforce it.
He used the power of the federal government to arrest Klan members and protect Black Americans who were voting Republican during Reconstruction.
The KKK was created to stop Black Republicans from voting.
That is not up for debate — that is documented U.S. history.
So before people repeat the same tired line:
•Republicans ended slavery.
•Republicans passed the Civil Rights Amendments.
•Republicans used federal troops to stop the Klan.
If you’re going to talk about racism in America,
at least know who was actually fighting it.

I don’t know who is advising congressional Republicans on strategy right now, but it is whoever it is has an IQ barely approaching room temperature.
Republicans right now have no accomplishments, no plans, and no vision. Why on earth would anyone be excited to go vote for them 12 months right now?
Trump needs to ditch the foreign policy crap and focus all his attention on the domestic economy, which is still not working for the majority of people. Right now he looks weak and rudderless. Be mad all you want, but it’s the truth.
Newly minted college grads can’t find work and are saddled with debt. Where is their path to the American dream right now? Who is giving them a vision of a future worth fighting for?
You cannot have a viable country or future when half your country and all its young people are locked out of the economy and locked out of ever owning a home or much of anything beyond next month’s streaming subscription.
Does anyone in Washington care about this? Anyone at all?
Republicans had better wake up, because right now their nightmare is only beginning if they don’t start making massive changes.
