I consulted people who are knowledgeable in helicopter operations and piloting to explain the Ka-226 pilot’s behavior after losing the tail boom: «The crew never realized that the tail boom had separated. The engines and rotors were still functioning, and the captain was likely even pleased that he had managed to lift off from the water. He only noticed that something was wrong with the pedals later — when he gained some altitude and attempted to make a turn. If he had maintained his heading, he could have kept flying for several more kilometers — after all, it’s a coaxial rotor system. But the moment he sensed something was off and tried to turn toward the shore while climbing, there was no chance left. In the end, it’s clearly visible that the rotation became completely uncontrollable.»

The “Dosye Shpiona” information from which, as a rule, always finds confirmation later writes about some results of a mass attack on Crimea last night: •In the area of Dzhankoy, a UAV strike hit an S-400 system: one launcher was destroyed, the command post sustained minor damage, and a crew member was wounded; •In the area of Novostepnoe, Dzhankoy district, a UAV strike targeted the radar station of an S-400 complex belonging to military unit 44750; •In the area of Udachne, Krasnogvardeisky district, a UAV strike hit the personnel quarters of a Russian Armed Forces unit. 4 servicemen were wounded.

Ka-226 helicopter carrying workers from the sanctioned Russian Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant crashed in Dagestan. At least four of the seven people on board were killed. The Kizlyar plant develops flight-control and diagnostic systems, as well as onboard equipment for Russian military aircraft, including Sukhoi and MiG.
